गोगलगायी जून ते सप्टेंबर या काळात अत्यंत सक्रिय असतात व रोपावस्थेतील पिकांचे मोठ्या प्रमाणात नुकसान करतात त्यामुळे संपूर्ण पीक नष्ट होते. शंखी गोगलगायी अतीथंड व अतिउष्ण हवामानात आपल्या कवचाचे तोंड पातळ पापुद्र्याने बंद करुन झाडाला किंवा भिंतीला चिटकून सुप्त अवस्थेत जातात. येणाऱ्या हंगामान मागील वर्षी प्रमाणे परिस्थिती राहण्याची शक्यता आहे. त्यामुळे जास्त सतर्क राहण्याची आवश्यकता आहे. एका शेतकऱ्याने उपाययोजना करुन हा उपद्रव पुर्णपने दूर होत नाही. तर सामूहिकरित्या उपाययोजना करण्याची गरज असते.
