देशातील एकूण साखर उत्पादनात महाराष्ट्राचा वाटा जवळपास एक तृतियांश इतका मोठा आहे. गेल्या वर्षी एक ऑक्टोबरपासून सुरू झालेल्या २०२२-२३ च्या गळीत हंगामात महाराष्ट्रात १२८ लाख टन साखर उत्पादन होण्याचा अंदाज आहे, असे राज्याचे साखर आयुक्त शेखर गायकवाड यांनी सांगितले. हंगामाच्या सुरूवातीला मात्र १३८ लाख टन साखर उत्पादनाचा अंदाज वर्तवण्यात आला होता. हा अंदाज हुकला आहे.
Maharashtra's share in the total sugar production of the country is almost one-third. During the fall season of 2022-23, which started from October 1 last year, it is estimated that 12.8 lakh tonnes of sugar will be produced in Maharashtra, said the state sugar commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad. At the beginning of the season, however, 13.8 lakh tonnes of sugar production was predicted. This guess is missed.
